The Reading Garden was opened on a beautiful day, surrounded by the families, colleagues, friends, and both former and current students of Mrs. Sharpe and Mr. O’Reilly. It was a meaningful time of remembrance and celebration for two extraordinary teachers who have impacted so many lives.
We would like to recognize and sincerely thank those who made this project possible:
Mr. Tony Ingram, for the dream of a reading garden.
Mrs. Tammie Chesser, for taking that dream and turning it into a beautiful vision.
Red Level Alumni and Friends, for their generous donation.
Huggins Sod Farm, for the donation of sod in honor of McRhee Huggins, Class of 1955.
Tyree Bowen and Loyd Chesser, Class of 1977, for the design, fabrication, and installation of the gate.
Mary Leah Bond, Class of 1977, for her painting.
Kerry Varner, Class of 2002, and Stephen Bowen, Class of 2008, for their beautiful words and tributes.
Melissa and Jason Nall, Class of 1990, for installing the pavers and rocks.
Lisa Mount and Melissa Nall for hosting the reception.
This garden stands as a lasting tribute and a place where students will continue to learn, reflect, and be inspired for years to come.
